Welcome to the Hacksburg Annual Pumpkin Chunkin’, held October 31, 2021. This is intended to be a friendly competition to see who can build an accurate trebuchet to fire pumpkins at a target on a level field. The goal is to have fun! The trebuchets will be located approximately 200 ft away from the center of the target bulls-eye. Each team will get several shots at the target over the course of the day. The distance from the bulls-eye to where each pumpkin impacts will be measured, and the best three shots will be averaged together to get each team’s score. First, second, and third place trophies will be awarded for the most accurate trebuchets.
